Glucometer Simulator
Creator: Jon Treece, MSN, RN

Description

The Virtual Glucometer is a virtual, real-time application designed for educational and demonstration purposes. It simulates a realistic patient blood glucose monitoring workflow by allowing an "Instructor" to set a patient's medical record number (MRN) and blood glucose level. This information is then instantly and securely synchronized to the devices of all users in "Nurse" mode. The nurses can confirm patient identity by typing in the correct MRN and then obtain the glucose reading. The tool uses a cloud-based Firestore database to enable this seamless, multi-user, real-time synchronization.
